Craig T. Mullen

Co-founder of the AURORA Trust for Ocean Exploration and Education, Craig Mullen has led the development and application of emerging technologies and state of the art undersea robotic tools used in nautical archeology. Craig was the founder and President of Eastport International, a pioneering firm in advanced mapping, imaging, and remotely operated robotic vehicles. He successfully employed these sophisticated technologies to locate, document and recover objects as diverse as the Space Shuttle Challenger and the USS Monitor. Later, as President of Oceaneering’s Advanced Technologies Group, Craig led expeditions to locate numerous twentieth century and ancient ship wrecks in virtually all the world’s oceans, from the shoreline to 25,000 foot ocean depths.

 

Ian G. Koblick

Ian Koblick is a recognized international authority on undersea living, marine education and diving tourism During the 1970’s he participated in the Tektite I program as an alternate aquanaut, and managed and participated as an aquanaut for Tektite II. He was Special Assistant to the Governor of the Virgin Islands and served as an advisor to the governor of Puerto Rico . Mr. Koblick designed and managed the La Chalupa undersea research habitat project. He is a consulting editor for the second edition of the NOAA Diving Manual. He and a partner created Jules Undersea Lodge, the world’s only underwater hotel and the Key Largo Undersea Park . Mr. Koblick co-authored the book Living and Working in the Sea, a reference work on undersea habitats and habitation. Under his direction, Marine Resources Development Foundation has championed undersea research and environmental education since 1970, introducing thousands of people to the unique environment and precious resources of the marine world.
